In totality, the movie is very much what I expected it to be. It has the making of a blockbuster movie, because it’s full of surprises and very exciting. I also like it because it made me think and sort of analyze, but not much.   Compared to Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons have a much faster pace.  I can still remember how I loved Da Vinci Code when I’ve seen it with my friends (Malen, Mimi, Tiana and Pelonio) at Gateway Mall in Cubao.

The movie plot started when a group of scientist created a substance called antinatter which could be easily identified as a material that could destroy matter of all types; solid, liquid and gas.  At the same time, in Vatican City, the current Pope just died, and the Cardinals were about to vote for a new Pope. Professor Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a reknowed Symbologis was called to the Vatican in order to investigate the sudden reappearance of the Illuminati, a secret society whose set to revenge against the Catholic Church.  The same secret society who appeared to have kidnapped four of the top contenders for the Papacy and has hidden the canister of antimatter somewhere within the city. Langdon must follow ancient clues about Illuminati hidden in the Vatican to find the missing cardinals and save the city from a terrible fate.

SPOILER ALERT!  Though I love this, there are some parts where I really didn’t patronize the transition from the book to the movie.  I’m kind of disappointed by how they showed Camerlengo Patrick’s reasoning of killing the pope.  It’s so kind of lame.  To understand me, you have to read the book to understand what I’m saying.  As if you’re missing half of the movie if you have not read the book!  Go buy one now and read, then compare!

I’ll give this movie four stars out of five!
