5 Don’ts When You Sleep02.28.09

sleeping cat

I want to share something that I’ve read that you should not do when you sleep. Please, please, be sure that you don’t do the fifth one. EVER!

Watches can emit a certain level of radioactivity. Though small, but if you wear your watch to bed for a long time, it might have adverse effects on your health.

Putting the phone beside your bed or anywhere near you is not encouraged. Though some of us will use phones as alarm clocks, but please put the phone as far as possible. Scientists have proved that electrical items including mobile phone and television sets emit magnetic waves when used. These waves can cause disruptions to our nervous system. Therefore if you need to put your mobile phone near you, switch it off first.

People who sleep with make up might have skin problems in the long run.
Sleeping with make up will cause the skin to have difficulty in breathing
and problem in perspiring. You will also need a much longer time to go
into deep sleep.

Scientists in America have discovered those that wear bras for more than
12 hours have a higher risk of getting breast cancer. So go to bed without
it.  So as the same thing goes with wearing a supporter when sleeping.

You may never wake up again.

theme park addict02.24.09

I don’t know why I’m an addict when it comes to visiting theme parks.  I think, I’ve been to all of the theme parks here in Manila and Laguna, not just once but several times already.  I even recorded in video our exciting try in one of the main rides. That is for all of the people who were afraid to try it for real but wanted to know how it feels!  Am I nice or what? lol.

Check it out!

That’s why I can’t wait for our trip next week!  We’ll go to one of the top theme parks in the world. Maybe, next time that I’ll spend my Orlando vacations, we’ll go to the most visited and top rated theme park in the area, the Orlando Theme Park. Yess!!! It’s one of my dreams, to visit all the theme parks in the world and try all the rides that they could offer. And for the record, I have not yet vomited after an exciting, nauseating, dizzying ride, ever!

New Moon Official Logo02.20.09

Have you seen the new logo for the movie New Moon coming this November 20? Here’s the exclusive from MTV.

New Moon Logo

Here’s the excerpt from the report:

As Juliet once said to Romeo: A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Now, modern-day star crossed lovers Bella Swan and Edward Cullen are getting ready to carry on with their cinematic love affair. But will the second “Twilight” movie smell as sweet now that it has a brand-new name?

MTV News has the scoop on the official name and logo for Chris Weitz’s soon-to-film sequel to “Twilight.” Dubbed “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” (although the title treatment leaves off the “’s”) the film’s official title art stays true to the look of the first movie while swapping in an orange tint, a subtle crescent moon, and the release date of 11.20.09.

Although the look of the new logo will undoubtedly get Twilighter tongues wagging, it’s the five-word official title that is the most prominent variation from Stephenie Meyer’s simple “New Moon.”

With roman numerals now considered taboo in Hollywood, and sequel names like “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” and “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” in vogue, it makes sense that Weitz and crew would label the future films as “The Twilight Saga.” At the risk of reading too much into five words, it also seems to imply that “New Moon” will boast a more epic feel than the first movie.

As for the logo itself, Weitz has chosen to stay with the lowercase lettering, personable font and light-streaks-poking-through look of last year’s hit film. In switching from blue to orange, the movie’s upcoming posters will be instantly distinguishable from those of the original “Twilight” – which should make them look a whole lot cooler when teenage girls all over the world add them to their walls. The presence of orange also begs a new question: Now that blue and orange are taken, which colors should be used for “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”?

It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year. It’s the next installment in a worldwide phenomenon. And now, it’s called “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon.” Stay tuned, Twilighters, as MTV will continue to bring you all the latest news from now until November.

It’s just a logo but it really made me very excited. Weeee!!! It’s like an early Christmas gift for me!

Valentine Fever02.15.09

See how we (colleagues) tried to find dates for the Valentines Day? They’ve come up with a dating cum texting game. The girl with the highest number of text messages will win the date and the girls were all from M.D. (Matandang Dalaga, Oldmaid) club.

I just love the QA’s humor!  Priceless!  I’m not sure if I can leave my QA family…  It’s making me sad…

By the way, nobody won the date coz nobody texted! hahaha!

My Shopaholic Confession02.14.09

Hi.  My name is Ruthie and I’m a Shopaholic!

Aside from dreaming of flying around the world (as in real flying without any means of machine in a super fashion way) my other best day dream idea is shopping non-stop, til I drop!  I always feel so exhilarated when I dream about it.  So imagine yourself doing what you’ve always been day dreaming, as in doing it in real life.  Oh yes, I really did! I confess, I’m a shopaholic!

I can still remember the day when it happened.  It was a fine day to begin with, but somehow as the day goes by, it ended up worse than I expected.  I felt so down and as in nothing can cheer me up, even chocolates and cake did not have it’s usual magic.  The things that saved  me were both 1 mm thick, and they’re called credit cards.  Yes!  You’re right!  That day I maxed out my credit limits.  My bills filed up so high it went to the roof.  For sure my salary for the due date will all gonna be for the payment and even some of my saving.  But the most important thing was, my depression’s gone in the end of the day.  I felt tired but was so elating at the same time!  When I saw something that I liked, without hesitation, without doubt, I let the cashier swiped the card and even loved the swiping sound it made with the machine.   That time, I did not care for the bills.   See…

Thanks to Becky Bloomwood for teaching me things I should have learned on my own.  But sometimes, you can’t see clearly if the mirror is so close, right?  After reading all the shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella, I knew that Becky and I were kindred spirits (or maybe, she’s possessing me? LOL).  I can almost relate to her struggles, her joy, her story.  I wish that I’m as witty as her and how I wish that Alex (my own Luke Brandon) is as rich as he (Luke) is. Hahaha!  With my addiction to Ms Kinsella’s Shopaholicness, I even finished reading all five books within a week!  I LOVE IT!

Now, imagine your favorite character coming to life! We all have to see it in big screen!

Catch “Confessions of a Shopaholic” in Cinemas on February 18, 2009!

a job or a business02.04.09

This is what I told my younger brother. He needs to get a job or a business. In the Global Economic problem that we’re experiencing, I can’t explain this much clearer to him that we are all in financial problem. Since he still could not find a job, we’d better make a back up plan right? Good thing for us we have a technical university near our house, about 5 minutes drive. He can gain a lot of skills and it could also be a way for him to acquire jobs abroad. They offer ref and air conditioning, electronic, and mechanical skills. Who knows he can have his own car/auto shop someday? We will need equipments for welding, car wash, car lifts and others, right? How much will this cost? I don’t know but it sounds like a good business right?

Or maybe something else? What do you think?
