I think it’s in our blood. Since my dad worked in Saudi Arabia for eleven years (not consecutive) and my sister is currently working in Hong Kong for nearly six years now, it’s no wonder that our youngest, my baby brother will work as well outside the country. We’re only six in the family, so it’s a 50% rate of the population. And I’m not closing the possibility of me and my sister working abroad since we’re still young and honestly, for myself, I really want to try working abroad. I want to experience other culture, learn another language and see other places. If you will ask me now where I want to go, I’d answer Korea. Why? I need another post just to answer that! LOL!

Since my brother will go next year, around January or February, we still have so many things to prepare. Good thing my sister (who’s still in Hong Kong) got some of the stuff he needs. She got him some winter clothes and winter jackets. She will also get him a new luggage, I asked her to get him a Titan luggage since it’s been known for their quality. She’s planning to get him a new pair of rubber shoes but I discouraged her in doing that since we have to make sure of the size and comfort right? So you have to get it with him. We’re also planning to get him a laptop for easier communication, maximizing the technology, right? What else? What else?

For sure we will miss him, but I’m pretty sure that we will visit him when gets there! So Sayonara!

tears from papa06.15.08

It was just a simple note…and it had done it all.

I will not write what I wrote to him. Too personal I guess…but with the same meaning and content, I just want to let my dad know that we love him very much and we will never forget all his kindness and hardships just to provide for our family.

The truth is, I always acknowledge my parents hardwork and perseverance. When we were still little and those were the times that we we’re having a hard time financially. I’m thankful that they (our parents) did not just let go and continued to strive for us.

We love you both!  You’re our role models!

Thanks guys for coming and for the gifts! It’s really so nice to spend your special day quietly and less stress…hehehe. Sarap ng kwentuhan… Kahit pa lagi kaming updated sa happenings ng buhay-buhay because of blogging, iba pa rin yung personal…me emotion, me dating…

Mudra’s Day!05.13.07

Happy Mother’s Day Ma! Love yah!

(This is a truly BEAUTIFUL piece please read this at a slow pace, digesting every word and in leisure…do not hurry….this is a treasure…
For those lucky to still be blessed with your Mom, this is beautiful. For those of us who aren’t, this is even more beautiful. For those who are moms, you’ll love this.)

The young mother set her foot on the path of life. “Is this the long way?” she asked. And the guide said: “Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old before you reach the end of it. But the end will be better than the beginning.”

But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything could be better than these years. So she played with her children, and gathered flowers for them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and the sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried, “Nothing will ever be lovelier than this.”

Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said, “Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come.”

And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary. But at all times she said to the children,” A little patience and we are there.” So the children climbed, and when they reached the top they said, “Mother, we would not have done it without you.”

And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up at the stars and said, “This is a better day than the last, for my children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness. Yesterday I gave them courage. Today, I ‘ve given them strength.”

And the next day came strange clouds which darkened the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped and stumbled, and the mother said: “Look up. Lift your eyes to the light. And the children looked and saw above the clouds an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the darkness. And that night the Mother said, “This is the best day of all, for I have shown my children God.”

And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her, for she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill, and beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide. And mother said, “I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end is better than the beginning, for my children can walk alone, and their children after them.”

And the children said, “You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates.” And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates closed after her. And they said: “We cannot see her but she is with us still. A Mother like ours is more than a
memory. She is a living presence…….”

Your Mother is always with you…. She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street; she’s the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered socks; she’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not well. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she’s crystallized in every tear drop. She’s the place you came from, your first home; and she’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate you.

Not time, not space… not even death!

overnight swimming and bonding04.23.07

It’s been a long time since I was with two of my BFF, Malen and Aimz. We had our overnight swimming at Great Falls Resort in Maysan.

I really enjoyed our time together, patching up with the latest news. Verifying things that we’ve heard. Upating each other. In short, chika to the max. Hehehe. Ang dami kong nakain…sobra! You’d think that we’ve prepared for a group of 5-6 peeps. Hahaha. Dami talaga food. We had rice, adobo, pork barbeque, inihaw na isda, itlog na maalat with kamatis, and a lot of chichiria. Hahaha! Glut time again!

Malen and Aimz got to learn how to swim. Inggit ang lola mo. Hehehe. I don’t know, I can’t get the hang out of proper breathing…hehehe. Bad me. I should practice more. I can’t forget how we did different versions of bubble breathing. hahaha. My stomach ached because of over laughing…hehehe.

Alex came around 11pm. He brought water, soda, and ice cream! Sarap! He just stayed for 30mins. I just wished that he would stay longer. Mom also came to check us out. Hehehe….

Guys, I wish that we could do this more often! Go go go! See yah on Malen’s celebration coming this Saturday! Yahoooo!!!
